Call to Action: IHS Strategic Realignment Consultations July 8 to 28

From July 8 to July 28 Indian Health Service (IHS) is holding sessions to gather input on a proposed strategic realignment of the agency. This effort is intended to strengthen IHS operations, enhance service delivery, and better support Tribal self-governance. By seeking feedback from Tribal and Urban Indian Organization leaders, IHS aims to ensure that any structural changes reflect community priorities and advance the agency’s mission of providing high-quality, culturally appropriate care.

Consultations will focus on three areas: 

  1. Delivery of direct patient care
  2. Enterprise and operational management 
  3. Supporting Tribal self-determination
