Call to Action: FCC Hosts a Virtual Consultation for Tribal Nations on NEPA and Section 106 Process of the NHPA Tuesday July 15
Kennedy Satterfield
Communications Specialist
On Tuesday, July 15 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. EDT the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) will host a virtual consultation for Tribal Nations regarding the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and the Section 106 Process of the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA).
This consultation responds to recent federal directives and a petition for rulemaking that could streamline environmental and historic preservation reviews, including those affecting Tribal lands. The session provides an opportunity for Tribal Nations and Native Hawaiian Organizations to share input on how these changes may impact their communities and cultural resources. The FCC affirms its commitment to government-to-government consultation as part of its decision-making process.
Register for the consultation.
Future Consultations: WTB and ONAP may announce additional consultation opportunities and will list any upcoming consultations on its webpage. Email notices about consultations will also be sent to Tribal Nations from its [email protected] email address, request to be added to the mailing list by sending a message to [email protected].
Reasonable Accommodations: reasonable accommodations for people with disabilities are available upon request. Send an email to [email protected] or call Consumer and Governmental Affairs Bureau at 202-418-0530 (voice) or 202-418-0432 (TTY), include a description of the accommodations needed and your contact information.
