On March 31, 2025, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) posted a notice that it is seeking public comments on a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NPRM) filed by the Wireless Association (CTIA). All comments are due by April 30, 2025.

Dr. Traci Morris spoke on the National Center's Native Edge podcast, hosted by Chris James and Nicole Watson. Dr. Morris is the Executive Director of the Center for Tribal Digital Sovereignty, which is part of the American Indian Policy Institute at Arizona State University's Sandra Day O'Connor College of Law. During the conversation, she discussed topics such as Indigenous resilience, entrepreneurship, the Indigenous Leadership Academy, and the mission of the Center for Tribal Digital Sovereignty.

On February 12, 2025, the U.S. Senate Committee on Indian Affairs held an oversight hearing, Examining Native Communities' Priorities for the 119th Congress. Chaired by Senator Lisa Murkowski (R-AK), with Vice Chairman Brian Schatz (D-HI), the hearing reaffirmed the committee’s commitment to centering Native voices in policymaking.

On Sunday, Feb. 2, a coalition of 23 Tribal organizations and intertribal councils representing the majority of sovereign American Indian and Alaska Native Tribal Nations formally called on the President, members of Congress, and the Interior Secretary to uphold federal treaty and trust obligations. Their letter urges federal officials to consult with Tribal Nations and protect critical funding following recent executive actions that negatively impact Tribal programs.

On January 6, 2025, the Rural Business-Cooperative Service, a USDA agency, issued a notice inviting applications for grants to provide technical assistance for passenger Rural Transportation (RT) systems under the Rural Business Development Grant (RDBG) program. Grant funds will support RT systems, including designated funds for RT systems operating within Tribal lands of Federally Recognized tribes.
